This company's mission is to help its customers in evaluating their needs and requirements, in order to carry out their projects with the utmost preoccupation for the client’s needs, the health of the occupants, the environment, the schedule and the budget.

The company was established in 1995 by Lyse M. Tremblay as Lyse M. Tremblay, architect. Lyse M. Tremblay Eco-Architecture Inc. was later added as a corporate entity. Ms. Tremblay is one of the pioneers in sustainable architecture. Of utmost importance to her is ensuring that sustainable development progresses rapidly by increasing the number of environmentally green buildings. She believes that all of society will benefit from this.



Having a long term commitment to the health and wellbeing of the building occupants, the company works exclusively in the field of green buildings. Air quality, energy efficiency, water consumption reduction, ecological materials, recycling; these important elements in the design of green buildings will make them more cost-effective in the long term than a conventional building for all stakeholders, be they the occupants, the owners, the employers, the contractors, the consultants or society in general. Various studies conducted by the Canada Green Building Council and the US Green Building Council demonstrate the profitability and the importance of designing and constructing ecological buildings.

The company has also participated in an architectural consortium MTF which designed and built the Montreal Mountain Equipment Coop retail store, that received the following awards:

Licensed architect having graduated from McGill University in 1978, Lyse M. Tremblay has an MBA (Masters in Business Administration), majoring in Real Estate Finance from McGill University (1985). She has more than 20 years’ experience in sustainable development and 31 years’ experience in architectural design, project management and facilities development. A pioneer in sustainable architecture, she an omnipresent force in the advancement of green buildings in Quebec.

Ms. Tremblay is a member of the Quebec Order of Architects, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) certified, Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and its Quebec Chapter, as well as the US Green Building Council. She is also a LEED® BD&C Accredited Professional, as well as a member of the LEED® faculty for the Canada Green Building Council for the LEED® NC, CI and EB:OM courses. In 1995, she opens her own architectural office, and later created the corporation, Lyse M. Tremblay Eco-Architecture Inc., to consult and assist in certification.

During her 15 year tenure at industrial multinational Pratt & Whitney Canada, she occupied various key positions in planning, project management, renovation and construction of various buildings and dealt with many environmental topics such as energy efficiency, sick building syndrome, reduction of emissions from toxic materials, soil and water contamination, as well as sustainable development. Her work and research in these leading edge areas have allowed her to explore and master the sustainable building , a new approach in architectural design that is always respectful of the environment as well as the health of the occupants.

Ms. Tremblay is a founding member of the Quebec Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council, as well as being a past Director of the CaGBC Board of Directors, past Director of the Programming Committee of the Quebec Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council, and past President of the Environmental and Architectural Committee of the Quebec Order of Architects.

She taught at McGill University, as an adjunct professor for the architecture master studio focusing on sustainable development for university buildings. She has also served as LEED® faculty for numerous LEED® courses for the CaGBC and is a trainer for green buildings for the Quebec Order of Architects.

She has also given numerous green building conferences for the Quebec Construction Association- Montreal Region, Constuctex, BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association), IFMA (International Facilities Management Association), AGPI (Real Estate Institutional Managers Association), AQME (Quebec Association for Energy Management) , City of Montréal, Contech, ASHRAE, Symposium for New Tendencies and Sustainable Development- Netherlands and Quebec, Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), RAIC (Royal Architectural Institute of Canada), School Board of Hautes Rives and the Group of Purchasing Managers for Universities in Quebec.
